Cárcel del Virilla

Cabe destacar que en el Programa de Atención Institucional está ubicados un grupo de población cuya reclusión no responde a la aplicación de la legislación penal; correspondiente este grupo a las personas contra quienes la autoridad judicial ordeno apremio corporal por incumplimiento de la Ley de Pensiones Alimentarias.

En este Programa se han establecido 14 centros penales, geográficamente distribuidos en las diferentes regiones del país. Dichos centros son conocidos como Centros de Atención Institucional, usándose la abreviatura CAI para identificarlos y sus nombres son los siguientes:
